India, the world’s top-ranked side in the ICC men’s T20I rankings, hasn’t played at all well lately. The Men in Blue fell to Australia in the first T20I at home after their Super 4 round departure from Asia Cup 2022, and their recent performances have dampened their confidence going into the forthcoming T20 World Cup in October of this year. The performance of the Indian squad has been underwhelming, and several analysts have raised red flags for Rohit Sharma and the company.

Jacques Kallis, a former all-rounder for South Africa, has chimed in on India’s prospects of winning the T20 World Cup. Despite their recent slump in form, India is still one of the favourites to win the tournament, according to one of cricket’s best all-rounders in history, Kallis.

“India has played some excellent T20 cricket, and they will undoubtedly be one of the favourites, but the World Cup can be a little bit of a lottery.” According to Kallis, India has a squad that deserves to be the favourite. They are a decent bunch. You need good fortune and to play huge moments to succeed in the World Cup. They certainly have a chance to prevail.

According to Kallis, every side will experience moments and games during the T20 World Cup when spinners or seamers would predominate. Yuzvendra Chahal, R Ashwin, and Axar Patel are India’s three spinners for the World Cup, while youthful leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi has been included as a backup. Every squad, said to Kallis, “will have times and contests when spinners or seamers will rule.”

Kallis, considered one of the best all-rounders of all time, is currently playing the Legends League Cricket tournament in India, representing the India Capitals. With more than 500 international matches in his career, Kallis scored more than 25,000 runs as a batter and took more than 550 wickets as a medium pacer.
