In November and December, Sri Lanka will host the West Indies in a two-match Test series. This series will serve as the kickoff of the two teams’ World Test Championship campaigns in 2023. The Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) released a statement to the media informing them of the situation. On November 10, 2021, the West Indies team is expected to arrive in Sri Lanka. The two-match Test series will be played in a Bio-Bubble Environment at the Galle International Cricket Stadium. The West Indies last visited the country in 2019 for three one-day internationals and two Twenty20 matches. The hosts had dominated the ODI series, winning all three games.

The West Indies, on the other side, were victorious in the T20I series by a score of 2-0.

Sri Lanka enjoyed an excellent start to the high-profile competition. Dasun Shanaka’s side won all three of their matches to qualify for the Super 12s. The team subsequently went on to win their first match of the Super 12s against Bangladesh. They showed a lot of character in chasing down 172 people. The team, on the other hand, was defeated by Australia by seven wickets in the next match. The team will look forward to punching above their weights in the following encounter, as they have been put in a particularly difficult group for the major event.

The West Indies, on the other hand, has had a dismal start to the tournament. In the main tournament, the squad lost its first two matches. They were completely outplayed by England in their first match. In their following encounter, against South Africa, the team’s batting lineup collapsed once more, as they were defeated by eight wickets. When the Kieron Pollard-led team faced Bangladesh in their third encounter of the tournament, they finally won for the first time, and they will look to keep the winning streak going.
