In the latest edition of the Indian Premier League, Rohit Sharma’s Mumbai Indians (MI) have gotten off to the worst conceivable start (IPL). The five-time champions have yet to win a game in the competition, suffering severe defeats in each of their three matchups thus far.

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) became the next team to add salt to their wounds, losing by five wickets following some fierce hitting by Australia bowler Pat Cummins.

The 28-year-old batted his way to a 14-ball 50 as KKR chased down a tough 162-run total with four overs to spare and won by five wickets.

“With the way things have gone in the previous few overs, this will be difficult to swallow.” We still have a lot of work to do. I don’t want to be in this position all the time,” Sharma stated during the post-match presentation ceremony when asked about the match.

Meanwhile, earlier on Thursday, the skipper sought to boost team morale with a forceful message on social media. “We remain together through thick and thin and that’s just one of our strengths; you ain’t seen nothing yet,” he said with a photo of the group on Instagram.
