Taskin Ahmed will sit out the rest of the BPL season due to a back injury
Taskin Ahmed is facing a tragic change in his availability in the BPL 2022 season as his back injury has flared up again. A recent MRI scan has revealed that his previous back injury is causing pain and, since his presence is important in the upcoming home series against Afghanistan, the board has decided that it is best for him to sit out the current BPL season and recover from injury.
Injury-related news can always be a tragedy for any sports player, as they train hard for months and an injury comes along that wipes all the effort down the drain and leaves the player wondering about his career and future.
According to cricbuzz.com, physician Joy Saha has given important updates regarding Taskin’s injury. Joy says, “Taskin has a history of back injuries. After the chattogram phase, he told us that he was in agony. After that, we took an MRI, which proved that the damage was old”. He went on to say that they had informed the BCB medical staff about the situation and were currently following their instructions.
“We can’t take a chance with him right now because of the next Afghanistan series. We’re looking at all of the options for getting him ready for that series. We won’t be able to play him in the BPL unless his soreness subsides”, the Sunrisers’ official stated.
