Rajasthan Royals have hired Steffan Jones, a former county fast bowler from Wales, as their high-performance fast bowling coach. Jones, who played 147 first-Class matches for Somerset, Northamptonshire, Derbyshire, and Kent, was the Rajasthan Royals’ fast bowling coach in 2019. Jones’ duty this time will be to practice with the RR bowlers throughout the year, with an emphasis on the off-season and build-up to the IPL season. Jones’s assignment will begin during the forthcoming pre-season camp in Nagpur, which will take place from March 7 to 10.

“I am happy to be back to the Rajasthan Royals and appreciative to the management for allowing me to work with the club once more,” Jones stated. “With so many outstanding bowlers in our ranks, I’m excited to work with them all year and prepare them to peak and thrive when the season arrives.” Kumar Sangakkara, the Royals’ director of cricket, praised Jones and the coaching style he provides to the team.

“Steffan has been closely linked with the organization over the past few years, so he understands the culture completely,” Sangakkara said. “He also brings with him a very capable coaching style, which has previously been praised by both players and management. We’re thrilled to have him back in his new capacity, where he’ll be working with our bowlers and providing assistance throughout the year, and we’re convinced that his experience will help us reach new heights.”
