The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) named their squad for the upcoming tour of Oman on Monday. Shams Mulani, an all-rounder, will captain the fourteen-member group in the absence of experienced players. The Rajasthan Royals have released Shivam Dube and Yashasvi Jaiswal to play against Oman, as asked by the MCA.

After the Oman trip ends on September 3, Dube and Jaiswal will join the Rajasthan Royals camp in the UAE, according to sources. Oman Cricket has invited MCA on a pre-season visit with the goal of getting some practise in before the T20 World Cup, which is set to take place in October and November. Six qualifying round matches are scheduled to take place in Oman.

Amol Mazumdar, a domestic veteran, has already been selected as Mumbai’s coach for the upcoming domestic season. According to an MCA official, the team will arrive in Oman on August 19 and depart on September 3. The T20 matches will be held on August 22, 24, and 26, with the 50-over matches taking place on August 29, 31, and September 2. The squad will quarantine for only one day after arriving in Muscat on Thursday.

The Mumbai players had a nearly month-long training camp at BKC’s indoor facility before visit. On Saturday, batting veteran Sachin Tendulkar gave the 40-man probables an impromptu pep talk. The MCA hosted the gathering to commemorate the 31st anniversary of the first of his 100 worldwide hundreds.
