Rahul Tripathi received his first call-up to the Indian national team after being named to the team for India’s upcoming two-match T20I series against Ireland, which will begin on June 26. The SRH batter has earned a lot of appreciation from numerous sources since being called up. On Friday, Ravi Shastri, a former head coach of India, became the latest to get on board. In an interview with ESPNcricinfo, Shastri praised the IPL player’s ability to keep the scoreboard “ticking.” Additionally, he complimented his “shot-making abilities” and “all-around game.” “The scoreboard is ticking as he arrives at the crease.” “He stays clear of the edged ball,” said the former head coach of Team India. He is not intimidated by any competitor or bowler because of his shot-making abilities or all-around skill.

“His rate of scoring is excellent. “You are aware that he puts it up brilliantly at position three, which is fantastic,” he went on to say.

Tripathi was the second-highest run-scorer for SRH in the IPL 2022 with 413 runs from 14 games, including three half-centuries. SRH had a strong hitting season, but he was unable to make the playoffs and placed eighth in the league. Tripathi had also expressed his happiness after getting his first call-up to India.

Tripathi told PTI, “It is a significant chance, a dream come true (moment), and (I) appreciate (it). I am overjoyed that the selectors and everyone have faith in me and that the results of my efforts have been realized.” And hopefully, if I get the chance to play, I’ll do my best, “he went on to say.

For the series against Ireland, Hardik Pandya has been selected as captain, while Bhuvneshwar Kumar has been named vice-captain.
