Dahani got a 1-7 record in his two overs against Hong Kong and a 0-29 record in Pakistan’s five-wicket defeat against India. On Sunday, Pakistan may be forced to start either Mohammad Hasnain or Hasan Ali due to his ailment.

Shahnawaz Dahani won’t be available for Sunday’s ACC T20 Asia Cup Super-4 match against India because of a potential side strain. The incident happened on Friday in Sharjah while bowling against Hong Kong, according to a statement from the PCB.

“As is the case with any suspected side strain injury, the medical team will monitor him for the next 48 to 72 hours before determining whether or not he can continue to participate in the event,” the statement said.

Pakistan needed to defeat Hong Kong in a T20I, and Mohammad Rizwan’s 78* enabled them to achieve 193-2. The opposition was then bowled out in 10.4 overs by spinners Shadab Khan and Mohammad Nawaz, who both had a combined seven wickets. Pakistan triumphed by 155 runs, the highest run margin in any T20 win.
