Shahid Afridi’s recommendation that Babar Azam bat at No. 3 should be rejected by Adam Gilchrist with a direct statement.

Former Pakistani captain Shahid Afridi has advised Babar to bat lower in the order because of his poor bat results. Legendary Australian cricketer Adam Gilchrist, though, has refuted the notion with a direct comment.

Babar has only managed to score 39 runs in 63 balls and no sixes in his first five innings. Against India, he scored a golden duck in addition to four other single-digit runs. Babar tried to remain long at the crease during the game against Bangladesh, but he only managed a 33-ball 25, leaving Pakistan in trouble until Mohammad Haris came to the team’s aid.

Harris has played two back-to-back vital innings while Babar is having trouble, which has greatly aided Pakistan in both of the games.
