Team India is preparing to play again in the T20I series against New Zealand after suffering a disappointing loss in the T20 World Cup semi-final. Senior cricketers like Virat Kohli, KL Rahul, and Rohit Sharma have been rested for the trip as Hardik Pandya will captain the team in the three-match series, which starts on November 18. Shubman Gill, Ishan Kishan, and Shreyas Iyer have been chosen for the role in place of the top-order stars, and Suryakumar Yadav is still in the squad.

However, Prithvi Shaw has left off the team for the T20I series, according to former India opener Virender Sehwag. The young Mumbai opener played at a strike rate of over 152 for the Delhi Capitals in this year’s Indian Premier League. He has recently been impressive for his state team.

Shaw last played a T20I for India in July 2021 against Sri Lanka, which was interestingly also his international debut in the game’s shortest format. According to Sehwag, Shaw needs to be recalled to the team.

Prithvi Shaw: “Ek naam main jo dekhna chahta tha. Both the T20 nor ODI teams do not exist. Additionally, Test toh vo khele hi nahi hai, bahar ho gaye hain bechaare It’s me, Vo ek naam main dekhna chaahunga. Khair, the World Cup will be held in 2023; the date will be announced at a later time. ( I particularly wanted to see Prithvi Shaw. He is not a member of the ODI or T20 teams. He hasn’t participated in Tests in a very long time. I’d like to see him again. Sehwag said, “But I’m hoping that he’ll be in the squad for the 2023 World Cup.

“Prithvi Shaw’s strike rate is 150 ke kareeb, and he is currently in the top order,” he said. I think the T20 format is appropriate. Ek atirikt khilaadi ke roop me le jaa sakte the, aap usko bhi. (Prithvi Shaw plays in the top order at 150 SR; he is appropriate for T20 cricket. You could’ve at least taken him as a reserve player),” Sehwag said further as he talked about the T20I squad against New Zealand.
