After amassing significant runs in the red-ball format, India’s Test specialist, Cheteshwar Pujara, has turned his attention to the white ball while playing well in England. The Royal London One-Day Cup 2022 has seen the right-handed batsman score quickly. In his five appearances in the competition thus far, Pujara has two centuries to his credit.

The 34-year-174 old’s from 131 balls in the match against Surrey on Sunday was the best score by a Sussex player in List A cricket. 20 fours and five sixes were hit during Pujara’s inning until he was struck out by Conor McKerr. Pujara has amassed 367 runs, averaging 91.75. He has also scored fifty goals.

Pujara also performed well in the current County Championship. The right-handed hitter amassed 1,094 runs over 13 innings, at an average of 109.40, in the eight games he participated in. He has five hundred plus scores in the competition thus far, with a high individual score of 231.

In both events, Pujara is presently ranked second in the batting standings.

Pujara’s performance, meanwhile, enabled Sussex to amass a massive 378/6 against Surrey in 50 overs. In retaliation, Surrey was bowled out for 162, giving their adversary a commanding 216-run victory.
