For cricket fans, a flamboyant Yuvraj Singh at the pinnacle of his powers was a sight to see. The all-rounder gave it his all whenever he was on the field, and it’s no surprise that he was a key figure in India’s two major ICC successes, the 2007 T20 World Cup and the 2011 50-over World Cup. Former India batsman Abhishek Sharma of the SunRisers Hyderabad has received accolades from the former player.

Abhishek Sharma, 21, was mentioned by Yuvraj as someone who reminds him of himself because of some of the strokes he plays.

“When I see Abhishek (Sharma), I believe he reminds me a lot of myself. I felt a lot like him when he nailed the pull shot and the backfoot shot. Shivam Dube has that approach as well, but he’s been doing it for a long time. He’s 28 years old, and I’m not sure how many ODIs he’s played. If you believe that men have potential, you should provide them greater opportunities. You must give Shivam or anybody else more opportunities to help them improve “On Sports18’s ‘Home Of Heroes,’ Yuvraj remarked.

Abhishek Sharma has scored 331 runs in 10 games for SRH this season, with a top score of 75. This season, he has a 33.10 average and a 134.01 strikeout rate. Yuvraj played 40 Tests in his career, accumulating 1,900 runs with a strike rate of 33.92. He has 8,701 runs in One-Day Internationals and 1,177 runs in the shorter format.
