Rajasthan Royals affirm Jos Buttler is alright playing with Ravi Ashwin
At the current IPL 2022 super auction in Bengaluru, the Rajasthan Royals have made a few intriguing purchases. While they were successful in acquiring gifted opener Devdutt Padikkal and New Zealand pace spearhead Trent Boult, they were also successful in acquiring experienced Indian off-spinner Ravi Ashwin for INR five crore. The 2020 finalists, the Delhi Capitals, released the Tamil Nadu cricketer only months before the two-day tournament.
Because Ravi Ashwin has joined the Rajasthan team, he will be paired with English wicketkeeper-batsman Jos Buttler. Along with captain Sanju Samson and promising opener Yashavi Jaiswal, Buttler is one of the players retained by the champions of the first edition for INR 10 crore. The English office and the England stumper would suddenly be playing for the same squad three years after their notorious on-field confrontation. RR CEO Jake Lush McCrum has now said that the 2019 World Cup champion is very comfortable playing alongside Ravi Ashwin.
“We met with Jos before the auction and went through all of our player priorities.” He didn’t even consider it (his run out by Ashwin at the conclusion of the non-season striker’s in 2019). I had to bring it up just to make sure everything was okay. During the press conference, Rajasthan Royals CEO Jake Lush McCrum declared, “It’s completely fine.”
“Perhaps he’ll have to practice with him in the nets.” On the other hand, they’re excited to play together on the pitch,” he continued.
