On December 23, the Indian Premier League (IPL) mini-auction is scheduled to take place, and rumors about the players the teams will bid on are already rampant. The T20 World Cup is likely to be used as a criterion for the big stars among the many tournaments that the scouts have taken into account when assessing the players.

Ravichandran Ashwin, an Indian spinner, believes that England all-rounder Ben Stokes will be in high demand and that the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) may be the team that is most interested in signing him. “Ben Stokes will undoubtedly be selected by the Lucknow Super Giants. They won’t pursue other players unless they succeed in getting him, according to Ashwin on his Youtube page.

For a large portion of the T20 World Cup, Stokes received criticism for his low strike rate. But it was he who guided England to victory in the championship game, giving them their second T20 World Cup triumph. Stokes helped up one end calmly as England faltered in their attempt to reach a target of 138. On 52 from 49 balls, he finished the game unbeaten.

Ashwin believes that the MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings (CSK) may make a bid for Nicholas Pooran of the West Indies as a second option for wicket-keeping. The seasoned off-break bowler said that would be the case if they were unable to purchase any of the all-rounders from Sam Curran, Ben Stokes, or Cameron Green.

“I believe Nicholas Pooran, a left-handed explosive second keeper, will fetch a fair price even though he didn’t perform well last season. He’ll have a high resale value.

“Even CSK might choose him, as CSK is likely to select Sam Curran from the marquee list. He will evade them. The attack on Ben Stokes will be fierce as well. He won’t be captured alongside them. They’ll also support Cameron Green, Ashwin predicted.
