Prithvi Shaw of the Delhi Capitals has been brought to a Mumbai hospital with a high fever. Shaw uploaded a selfie of himself in a hospital bed on Instagram stories on Sunday, and he was left out of the team for their match against Chennai Super Kings at the DY Patil Stadium later that day.

“Hospitalized and recuperating from a fever. Thank you for your kind words. Will be back in action as soon as possible, “Shaw said in his blog post.

The 22-year-old was also tested for Covid-19, which came out negative, according to PTI. Shaw was hospitalised with a high fever and had an RT-PCR test.

Shaw had already missed DC’s match against Sunrisers Hyderabad. In his absence, Mandeep Singh started the batting alongside David Warner and was dismissed for a five-ball duck. DC put up a total of 207/3 and won the match by 21 runs thanks to Warned’s 92 off 58 balls and Rovman Powell’s 67 off 35 balls.

DC players were placed in isolation earlier on Sunday after a net bowler tested positive for COVID-19 before the game against Chennai Super Kings.

“In a test this morning, one net bowler came up positive. Players have been instructed to remain in their rooms “Hours before their encounter against MS Dhoni’s team, IPL sources informed PTI. The development, however, had no bearing on the match itself, with DC hitting the field at 7.30 p.m.
