After testing positive for Covid-19, Australian batsman Peter Handscomb has been sent for isolation in England. The 30-year-old was leading Middlesex in the County Championship 2021 until he tested positive on Sunday, forcing him to withdraw from their game against Leicestershire.

So far, the right-hander from Victoria has been having a miserable time in England. Handscomb has only managed 227 runs in 13 innings, averaging 17.46 runs per inning.

Kent’s team was forced to go into seclusion after a member of the team tested positive for Covid-19 on Sunday.

Following England’s national cricket team’s footsteps, Kent’s management was forced to name a new squad, led by Heino Kuhn, for the County Championship game against Sussex and the T20 Blast games against Middlesex and Sussex, as a result of the circumstances.
