For the first time in the Indian Premier League (IPL), all-rounders Hardik Pandya and his brother Krunal will be featured on opposing teams. While Hardik Pandya, a fast-bowling all-rounder, will captain Gujarat Titans in their first season, Krunal will be seen playing T20 cricket for Lucknow Super Giants. On Day 1 of the super auction, Hardik was quick to react when his brother was selected by the Super Giants. “See you on the other side, dear bro,” he posted on Instagram. Both the Pandya brothers were in the Mumbai Indians team earlier.

Krunal joined the auction with a starting bid of 2 crores. The all-initial rounder’s interest was piqued by Punjab Kings and Chennai Super Kings, who engaged in a heated bidding war that pushed the all-worth rounder past 5 crores. Sunrisers Hyderabad and Lucknow Super Giants entered the fray as his price surpassed 7 crores. When his price hit 7.25 crore, Gujarat Titans expressed interest in the all-rounder. The Super Giants finally won the bidding battle and selected the player for a fee of Rs. 8.25 crore.
