The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) revealed their roster for the T20I and ODI home series against the West Indies on Thursday, December 2. Hasan Ali, Imad Wasim, Sarfaraz Ahmed, and Shoaib Malik, who played in the recent T20I series against Bangladesh, were not included in the lineup. Fast bowler Mohammad Hasnain, on the other hand, has been named to the 15-man team. Asif Ali, Haider Ali, Iftikhar Ahmed, Khushdil Shah, and Mohammad Wasim Jnr have replaced Faheem Ashraf, Hasan Ali, Salman Ali Agha, and Sarfaraz Ahmed in the 17-member team that was up for selection in the ODIs against England earlier this year.

Three T20Is and as many ODIs will be played between the West Indies and Pakistan. The first Twenty20 International will take place on December 13 at Karachi’s National Stadium Cricket Ground. Because the team has been playing T20 cricket since October, chief selector Muhammad Wasim stated that they have opted to decrease the number of players to 15.

“We have decided to reduce the number of players to 15 because we have been playing T20Is since October and now have a fairly settled and balanced team. As a result, Imad Wasim, Sarfaraz Ahmed, and Shoaib Malik have been left off the list. We have accepted the team management’s request and granted them with two additional resources for the ODIs, which we last played in July. We have decided to give Hasan Ali time off from this series after consulting with him and considering that he has been playing non-stop cricket since returning from a back ailment,” Wasim remarked, as quoted by PCB.
