Pakistan’s cricket selectors have picked a 15-man squad for the next T20I series against New Zealand and England, as well as the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in 2021. The seven home T20Is will be held in Lahore and Rawalpindi from September 25 to October 14, followed by Pakistan’s ICC Men’s T20 World Cup opener in Dubai on October 24 against India in a clash of past champions.

“We have tried to cover all our bases by catering for the modern-day kind of T20 cricket that will be necessary to perform impressively in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup,” stated Chief Selector Muhammad Wasim. This includes having faith in the players’ ability, skills, and experience to perform in a high-pressure worldwide event in familiar settings, as well as looking at the teams we’ll face in Group-2 matchups.

Shadab Khan has been appointed as Pakistan’s vice-captain for the ICC T20 World Cup 2021. As reserve players, Fakhar Zaman, Shahnawaz Dahani, and Usman Qadir will travel with the team. Sarfaraz Ahmed, a former Pakistan captain, has been left out of the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 roster. Mohammad Rizwan and Azam Khan have been chosen as the two wicket-keepers.
