The India’s tour of Sri Lanka would be rescheduled due to positive instances of COVID-19 among Sri Lankan team members.

The three-match One-Day International series, which was set to begin on July 13, will now most likely begin on July 17 or 18, since the host board wants the players to serve an extended quarantine period for its workers. On their return from the England tour, Sri Lanka’s batting coach Grant Flower and a team analyst were both found to be positive for COVID-19.

On Saturday, Sri Lanka Cricket will inform the BCCI and the broadcasters of the altered match schedule. The three ODIs were slated to be played from July 13 to 18, followed by the three T20Is from July 21 to 25 at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, according to the previous schedule.

Even the Lanka Premier League (LPL), which was originally slated to begin on July 29, has been moved to November 19 through December 12. The Governing Council believes that delaying the event by a few months will allow more cricketers to participate in the competition.
