Australia was scheduled to play 3 ODIs and 1 T20I against New Zealand on January 20, but border restrictions have forced this tour to be postponed. Many new quarantine regulations and border controls led Cricket Australia to this decision. The CEO of Cricket Australia released a statement to acknowledge this new change.

“We are devastated that we will be unable to play the scheduled matches against New Zealand as planned. We will, however, keep working with New Zealand Cricket to reschedule the series. We appreciate NZC’s efforts in making the series a reality. However, they are unable to do so at this moment due to a lack of assurance over return quarantine procedures. We recognise that fans will be dissatisfied, and we appreciate their patience in light of the exceptional conditions that the worldwide epidemic has created for everyone, “he concluded.
