Seven cricketers with international experience are among the strong “A” team that New Zealand unveiled on Friday for their forthcoming tour of India, which will include both red and white ball series in September.

It will be the first time a New Zealand ‘A’ team has been outside of the country since they toured the United Arab Emirates in 2018, during which it faced Pakistan ‘A’. Three four-day matches and three one-day matches will be played during the India trip to Bangalore and Chennai. Last visiting India was New Zealand A in 2017.

The 15-member team includes players with international experience as well as five players who might make their New Zealand ‘A’ debuts: Chad Bowes, Matt Fisher, Ben Lister, Robbie O’Donnell, and Joe Walker.

O’Donnell (Auckland) and Tom Bruce (Central Districts) have been selected as the tour’s co-captains. On August 26, New Zealand ‘A’ will fly to India. Selector for New Zealand Gavin Larsen stated in a statement: “It’s excellent to have A fixtures back on the touring schedule and even more thrilling to see the squad playing in foreign settings.”

It’s a fantastic opportunity to watch the players in a variety of settings against what we anticipate to be a very good home team with a combination of the red ball and white ball matches.

In advance of upcoming trips and ICC tournaments in the subcontinent, the circumstances provide a fantastic chance for the spin bowling group in particular.

About any cricketer, touring India is one of the best experiences, and he said, “I know the players and staff are excited about the challenge.”

Players like Mark Chapman, Jacob Duffy, and Dane Cleaver, who enjoyed success with the BLACKCAPS during the most recent series in Europe, are among the group.
