The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has declared that Jasprit Bumrah would miss the remaining games of the T20I series between South Africa and India. The governing cricket organization in India said on Friday that pacer Mohammed Siraj would take Bumrah’s spot for the T20I series. Bumrah was the quickest player on the pitch.

The All-India Senior Selection Committee decided to choose pacer Siraj for India’s home game against South Africa after Bumrah sustained a back injury before the first T20I between the two teams. After being sidelined for the whole of the Asia Cup 2022 due to a back condition, Bumrah is currently under the supervision of the BCCI medical department.

The top-ranked bowler for India, Bumrah, is uncertain for the T20 World Cup 2022, which gets underway in Australia next month. The star bowler missed Wednesday’s series opener between South Africa and India due to back discomfort. According to several reports, Bumrah will miss the flight to Australia because of a back stress fracture.

Bumrah wasn’t at his best in the last two games of the three-match T20I series against the World Champions Australia after the Asia Cup. “The T20 World Cup won’t include Bumrah, that much is clear. He has a serious back issue. He may be gone for six months since it’s a stress fracture.” a senior BCCI official, as reported by the news outlet PTI.

According to reports, star pacemen Deepak Chahar and Mohammed Shami are vying for Bumrah’s spot in the primary T20 World Cup roster. The seasoned Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja was previously unable to participate in the T20 World Cup due to a knee injury.

Team India will be represented by the following athletes in the T20 International matchup with South Africa: KL Rahul, Virat Kohli, Umesh Yadav, Shreyas Iyer, Shahbaz Ahmed, Dinesh Karthik, Suryakumar Yadav, Rishabh Pant, Yuzvendra Chahal, Axar Patel, Arshdeep Singh, Harshal Patel, Deepak Chahar, and Mohd.
