Mohammad Nabi, Afghanistan’s senior all-rounder, has been recalled to the 50-over format after being named in the 16-man squad for the forthcoming three-match ODI series against Bangladesh, which begins on February 23. Nabi will also captain the T20I team against Bangladesh in two 20-over games in March.

“The selectors have included some new faces in the ODI line-up, which is a positive indication for us as we prepare for next year’s World Cup. The three One-Day Internationals are crucial for us, and I am certain that the squad has the strength to perform well on the field,” ACB chairman Mirwais Ashraf said in a statement. “With the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia on the horizon, the T20I series is also critical to our overall preparations for the major event.”

According to cricbuzz, on Monday, the Afghanistan squad began a week of training in the Sylhet International Stadium (February 14). BCB authorities have stated that all of their players tested negative for COVID-19, allowing them to start preparing for the series. Rashid Khan and Nabi, who are currently playing in the Pakistan Super League, will join the squad ahead of the ODI series in Chattogram, which starts on February 23. The teams will play the second and third ODIs at Chattogram on February 25 and 28 before heading to Dhaka for the two T20Is on March 3 and 5.
