Mithali ended a 23-year international career as the top run-getter in One-Day Internationals (7805 in 232 innings at an average of 50.68). Mithali played 12 Test matches for India, amassing 699 runs. She also had a double-century in the game’s longest format.

“Like all journeys, this one must come to an end,” the 39-year-old stated in a social media message. “Today is the last day of my international cricket career.”

Raj debuted for India as a 16-year-old in a one-day international against Ireland in 1999 and scored 68 against South Africa in a Women’s World Cup match in Christchurch in March, which proved to be her only international appearance. Her 10,868 runs made her the all-time leading run-scorer in women’s international cricket.
