Due to personal reasons, Simon Katich has stepped down as RCB’s Head Coach and will not be part of the team’s IPL campaign in the UAE. Despite the fact that the grounds for Katich’s departure are unknown, it has been learned that he departed the post on his own accord. Mike Hesson will take over as Head Coach for the remainder of the season as part of the business continuity plan, in addition to his current duty as Director of Cricket Operations for the RCB.

Rajesh Menon, Vice President and Head of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) said, “It’s going to be an interesting chapter ahead as the season resumes in the UAE. Simon Katich has decided to step down as the Royal Challengers’ Head Coach. We would like to thank Katich for his contributions during his time at the club and wish him best of luck for the future. In the meanwhile, Mike Hesson, in addition to his existing duty as Director of Cricket, will take over as Head Coach until the end of the current season”.

In addition, RCB will be without Finn Allen, Kane Richardson, Daniel Sams, and Scott Kuggeleijn. Three replacements of Hasaranga, Chameera and Tim David have been announced by RCB. Mike Hesson is pleased with the team’s evolution. “In light of the situation, we’ve made some adjustments to the team. We’ve gone a long way as a group and have made consistent progress. The additions of Wanindu Hasaranga, Tim David, and Dushmantha Chameera couldn’t have come at a better time during the replacement window, the Kiwi noted, “as we seek to maintain the momentum and improve on our performance from earlier this year.”
