Sourav Ganguly, the BCCI president, stated that “Indian cricket is in safe hands” since former India teammates VVS Laxman and Rahul Dravid are prepared to “give it their all” in two key positions. While Dravid takes over as India’s new head coach, commencing with the T20I series against New Zealand, Laxman is scheduled to succeed Dravid as the director of the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru. Ganguly, who had appointed Laxman as the head of the state unit’s pilot project ‘Vision 2020’ as CAB president, was well aware of his abilities to work with junior players.

“I am very happy for them to be appointed as head coach and head of NCA,” Ganguly told PTI. “Those are two very important positions in Indian cricket.”

According to Ganguly, Laxman’s appointment as NCA head will make a difference because he is a wonderful person with a certain standing in Indian cricket.

“We chose Laxman because of his propensity to be dedicated. He’s always been an absolute pleasure to deal with. From that perspective, his importance in Indian cricket is unrivalled. ”

Rahul has put in place a mechanism at NCA, which would undoubtedly aid Laxman in continuing his good work,” Ganguly remarked.

Ganguly further claimed that Laxman has made financial sacrifices in order to take on the position of NCA chief. He clarified that the Hyderabad native had to leave his post as a mentor with the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) team in the Indian Premier League (IPL) in order to become the NCA’s chairman. Aside from that, Laxman will no longer be permitted to work as a commentator or in the media.

“He is relocating from Hyderabad to Bangalore for the next three years just to assist Indian cricket. It’s incredible. Of course, his pay will suffer as a result, but he has consented. His family, including his wife and children, will also be relocated. His children will now attend a school in Bangalore, and the family will undergo a significant transformation as a result of the relocation. It’s not simple unless you’re a true Indian cricket fan “Laxman was praised by Ganguly.
