An interesting squad selection has happened in the South African team for the ODI series against India as star pacer Kagiso Rabada has been rested to manage his workload. The board has said that they won’t be naming a replacement as there is an extended squad present in the bio-bubble and more cover for all-rounders has been added by including George Linde. He was present in the squad for the Test series and the selectors thought it would be a wise decision to add him to the ODI squad as well.

A statement released by Cricket South Africa says, “Due to heavy workloads over a prolonged period and the necessity for him to recover before the overseas Test series against New Zealand next month, Kagiso Rabada has been dropped from the Proteas team for the Betway One-Day International (ODI) series against India. Because there is an expanded squad in place in the Bio-Secure Environment (BSE), no replacement will be brought in for [Rabada], but George Linde has been kept from the Test team as an extra spin-bowling option for the series. Rabada has been playing for his team since the start of September last year.
