IPL 2022: Jos Buttler slams third century of IPL 2022, inches closer to Virat Kohli’s magnificent century record

At the Dr. DY Patil Sports Academy in Mumbai, Jos Buttler scored his first century in the Indian Premier League 2022 against Rohit Sharma’s Mumbai Indians (MI), and Rajasthan Royals won the match handily. In the IPL 2022, he hit his second century against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai, where Rajasthan Royals triumphed in a dramatic match. In the competition, he has also hit half-centuries against Gujarat Titans and Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Meanwhile, in the 34th match of the Indian Premier League 2022, he played his natural game and batted conservatively for the first 10 balls, with Rajasthan Royals at 44/0 at the conclusion of the powerplay. Jos Buttler, on the other hand, immediately advanced his innings and smashed some spectacular looking sixes to complete his half-century in no time. He also batted alongside Devdutt Padikkal for 155 runs off 91 balls until Padikkal was dismissed in the 16th over.

In the meanwhile, Jos Buttler reached his century in the 16th over, bowled by Khaleel Ahmed. He batted with a strike rate of 177.19 and scored 101* runs off 57 balls, hitting 8 fours and 8 sixes. Jos Buttler has hit over 450 runs in just 7 innings in the Indian Premier League 2022, making him the leading run-getter. He is well ahead of the tournament’s second-highest run scorer, KL Rahul, who has 265 runs in six games.

Jos Buttler has also become only the second player, after Virat Kohli, to achieve more than two hundred in a single IPL season.
