Inspired by Shubman Gill On Wednesday at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Team India thrashed New Zealand in the third and final T20I of the bilateral series. At the greatest cricket stadium in the world, Team India, captained by Hardik Pandya, won the third T20I by a commanding 168 runs to win the series 2-1. Former Indian all-rounder Irfan Pathan was all praise for opener Gill, who got back to scoring in T20Is with a brilliant century in Ahmedabad, as Team India recorded a historic double over New Zealand.

The opening batsman, Gill, became the youngest Indian player to hit a century in the shortest format at the age of 23 years and 146 days. Gill accomplished the unique accomplishment before Suresh Raina (23 years, 156 days). Pathan, a former all-rounder, praised Gill and predicted that the India opener will excel in all formats. Pathan believes that like batting legend Virat Kohli, Gill can dominate all three forms.

“I’m a tremendous admirer of his because of the way he bats. He can develop into an all-format player for you, as I keep saying. This batter has just as much potential as Virat Kohli, who dominated all forms for many years. It’s another thing to translate it into performance, “told Star Sports, Pathan.

Pathan made his comments after Gill scored the game-winning century in the third Twenty20 international against New Zealand. Indian opener Gill scored a magnificent 126 runs off 63 balls. In the 20-over match, India scored a staggering 234-4, keeping Centurion Gill undefeated. In all three game types, Gill became the sixth Indian hitter to record a century. As the hosts defeated New Zealand by 168 runs, India bowled them out for 66. Player of the Match honors went to opener Gill for his outstanding at-bats.

“Shubman Gill has begun to achieve that, but it takes time. In August, he recorded his first century. As of right now in February, Gill has already struck six centuries in international cricket, while the rest of the field has only managed four “Pathan threw in.
