David Warner has returned to the Delhi Capitals after eight years, signing for Rs 6.25 crore. DC had its sights set on Warner from the start, and they proceeded to make bids for him.

“Definitely David Warner. And I say that because he’s someone who has shown greatness in IPL over a period of time, he has won three Orange Caps. Obviously, last year didn’t go according to plan but I am sure he’ll have a point to prove. He’s gone back to a franchise that he’s played for before. Interestingly, I’ve played with him in that franchise, terrific cricketer, and I am pretty sure he’ll have a very, very good season,” Dinesh Karthik quoted

Warner would most likely be joined in the squad by another Australian Mitchell Marsh, as well as Nortje, India U-19 skipper Yash Dhull, and fellow experienced campaigners Prithvi Shaw. The team will be led by superstar Rishabh Pant, who will be in charge of leading the team to victory.

Warner finished his time with the SRH as the franchise’s leading run scorer. At 49.55, the 35-year-old racked up 4014 runs for the Orange Army. Warner has 2 centuries and 40 half-centuries under his belt.

Warner was one of the most reliable openers in IPL history, winning the Orange Cap three times during his time with SRH. Not to mention, he led them to their first IPL title win in 2016.

Currently, he is going through a rough time but he is expected to match his fans’ expectations in the forthcoming IPL.
