Former Indian cricketer Vijay Dahiya has been named as the assistant coach for the IPL 2022 season in Lucknow. The franchise has already hired Andy Flower as the head coach and Gautam Gambhir as the team’s mentor. Lucknow is one of two new teams that will compete in the IPL 2022 season. The other is Ahmedabad. Rajiv Goenka’s RPSG Group owns the Lucknow franchise. After providing the BCCI with a bidding price of over Rs. 7000 crore, the group won the auction for the new IPL franchise in October of last year.

Former Indian wicketkeeper Vijay Dahiya has been named as the team’s new assistant coach. As a wicket-keeper batsman, he has played in two Tests and 19 One-Day Internationals for India. Vijay Dahiya said in a statement, “I am happy and appreciative for the opportunity to work with the Lucknow IPL franchise.”

The Uttar Pradesh team is currently coached by Vijay Dahiya. He formerly served as an assistant coach with the Kolkata Knight Riders, a team that has won two IPL titles. In the past, he worked as a talent scout for the Delhi Capitals. In addition, he served as the head coach of the Delhi Ranji team.

The Lucknow franchise is preparing for the IPL 2022 season, which will begin in April 2022. In February 2022, a major auction will take place in which all of the teams will choose their favourite players for the squad. The former eight teams have kept a total of 27 players on their squad so far. They have 19 domestic players and 8 international players.

Lucknow and Ahmedabad will be permitted to select three players from a pool of released players in their roster prior to the IPL 2022 auction. According to previous reports, Lucknow is in negotiations with KL Rahul for the captaincy.
