David Warner returned to the Delhi Capitals after a nine-year absence, but his time in the crease was short-lived. Warner, the fifth-highest run-getter in the IPL, was perished by a Ravi Bishnoi delivery in an effort to cut the young Indian through point in the game against Lucknow Super Giants at the DY Patil Stadium. Warner hit it straight to Ayush Badoni, who made no mistake in catching it.

Prithvi Shaw’s assault at the other end was nowhere like the Australian’s placid 12-ball four. Shaw hit 61 off 34 balls in his 56th IPL game for Delhi, helping the side to the best powerplay total (47) in the present T20 championship.

Warner’s (second) debut for the franchise was thwarted, and Bishnoi now has a strong bowling record against him. In T20s, the Indian has taken Warner out three times in as many deliveries.

Warner has only managed to score five runs in three innings against Bishnoi. Bishnoi added insult to injury by dismissing Rowman Powell, who misjudged a googly and saw the ball crash into the off stump.
