Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) skipper Kane Williamson may be retained before the forthcoming IPL 2022 mega auction, according to Australian batsman David Warner’s comment on an Instagram post. Warner’s time at SRH may have come to an end, but he remains a staunch supporter of the franchise. After the IPL 2021 season ended in the UAE, he effectively said his goodbyes to the franchise.

The 34-year-old, on the other hand, continues to provide updates on various aspects of the franchise, including Williamson’s anticipated retention. In the just finished T20 World Cup final, the Kiwi skipper tied Marlon Samuels’ record for the greatest individual score in a T20 World Cup final. “@yaazey6 make sure you keep supporting me as my friend Kane will still be there, please,” Warner said in response to a user. The SRH franchise had a bad IPL 2021 season, but they’ll be trying to improve their position at the super auction.

Brad Haddin, SRH’s assistant coach, said that David Warner’s absence from the team’s playing XI had nothing to do with cricket. Warner had a positive outlook before entering the bio-bubble for the second leg of the IPL 2021 season, according to him, but that changed after he arrived.

“I tell you what, not playing for Sunrisers Hyderabad was not a cricket decision. I believe the most important thing to remember about David is that he wasn’t out of shape; he was just out of match practise. They took an extended vacation during which he did not travel to Bangladesh or the West Indies. He did, however, show there in a very positive frame of mind. He was hitting the ball well, but circumstances, including the coaching staff, were beyond our control.”

“However, it wasn’t because he was out of shape. He only needed to spend some time in the middle to re-establish his rhythm. You’ve seen his class as the competition progressed. On The Grade Cricketers podcast, Haddin observed, “He got a bit of rhythm back into his game and he was good to watch.”

Warner is undoubtedly the most consistent overseas player in IPL history, but his unceremonious dismissal from the SRH squad left everyone with a bad taste in their mouth.
