The last time India and South Africa met in a red-ball match was in India in 2019. The hosts completely dominated the Proteas in the series, winning all three Test matches. Everyone in the Indian dugout was flawless throughout the series, and the home side put on a fantastic performance of Test cricket, from batting to bowling.

They will be touring South Africa in the coming month, and the last time they played there, they lost the Test series 1-2. It’s also clear that playing a Test match in South Africa would be a difficult assignment for any side because of its bouncy pitches, which are beneficial to the Proteas. However, with some previous performances by India on foreign lands such as Australia and England, the Indian dugout is filled with high expectations. Whatever the outcome, it will be a treat to see both of the cricketing superpowers in white.

Also, the first unofficial Test match of the tour will be held on Tuesday at the Mangaung Oval in Bloemfontein, between India A and South Africa A. The visit will include three unofficial Test matches ahead of the senior men’s team’s tour of South Africa, which will begin on December 17th.

As part of their preparation for the upcoming tour, a few players from the senior Indian team have been included in India A squad to face South Africa A. For the South Africa tour, Hanuma Vihari and Prithvi Shaw accompanied the young India A players. On the tour, Priyank Panchal will be in charge of the team.
