India Squad For Australia T20 Series: 18-member squad announced for INDIA vs AUSTRALIA

The All India Selection Committee has picked 18 players for the Australia series. These include the likes of Mohammed Shami, Deepak Chahar, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, and Jasprit Bumrah. The squad also features youngsters such as Deepak Hooda, Hardik Pandya, and Yuzvendra Chahal. The team is being led by Rohit Sharma who captained India in the recent Asia cup T20 series this month.

With 14-15 members locked in the Indian lineup, it seems that there are going to be some tough calls for Rohit Sharma with regards to which fast bowlers he wants on his side. In the Asia cup absence of Jasprit Bumrah, and Mohamad Shami, Indian fast bowlers were largely ineffective. As a result, we lost the matches against Pakistan and Sri Lanka. There’s no denying how important the spinners have been for India so far and if we want to compete against Australia then we feel like we need both our fast bowlers and our spinners in order to give them a tough fight.

The skipper of team India, Rohit Sharma shared that they are ready to take on the Australians. However, he acknowledged the fact that they would need both their fast bowlers and spinners in order to give them a tough fight. They’ve taken steps towards this by selecting Mohammad Shami and Jasprit Bumrah in their team but still feel there could be an improvement made.

After losing two games against Pakistan and Sri Lanka in the recent Asia Cup, We think it would be wise to bring at least one more fast bowler along with the duo. That way team can rotate their fast bowlers strategically during the course of the game without risking any injuries due to overwork. The injury to Ravinder Jadeja gives the opportunity, Axar Patel to shine as a spinner. He was impressive in his first few innings for India too and we think that he’ll be really helpful for us considering how crucial spinners are likely to be against Australia.
