ICC has recently announced the name of the nominees for the Player of the Month for December and it turns out Mayank Agrawal is the only Indian among the nominations. He shares his place with Mitchell Marsh and Ajaz Patel. It appears that Mayank and Ajaz’s names have come up due to their stellar performances in the most recent India-New Zealand series, while Starc has been selected for his efforts to help his team win the Ashes series.

Mayank was the reason India won the Mumbai match of the New Zealand series as his robust performance in both innings helped set the tone for the match. While Ajaz Patel made history by becoming the third person to take ten wickets in a cricket match. Starc gave a phenomenal performance in the Ashes series as he made 151 runs in as many as five innings and also took 15 wickets while he was at it. He showed what he was made of when he dismissed Rory Burns in the first ball of the series. He took 6 wickets in the second test match, which involved him taking a four-wicket haul in the first innings that crushed England and their hopes of winning the Ashes series.
