The West Indies team for the ODI tours of the Netherlands and Pakistan includes newcomers Jayden Seales, Shermon Lewis, and Keacy Carty. Carty, a specialized batter, is also the first St. Maarten player to make the senior men’s squad.

According to Cricket West Indies, Jason Holder, who presently plays for the Lucknow Super Giants in the Indian Premier League, has been rested to manage his workload, while Shimron Hetmyer will also miss the trips due to the birth of his first child. Meanwhile, Evin Lewis of the Lucknow squad was not considered for the national team since he could not match the physical requirements.

“We were pleased with Carty and the way he goes about his innings, we saw multiple flashes of his talent the way he played against England earlier this year for the CWI President’s XI,” West Indies head selector Desmond Haynes said of Carty’s participation. We believe that by giving him this chance, he will understand the significance of representing the West Indies. We believe he is a promising young batter, and this is the kind of trip where he can demonstrate his worth.
