Test cricket, or test match cricket, is the longest form of the sport of cricket, played between international teams of 11 players over five days. Test matches are played with test status and only eight teams have officially been granted the test status by the International Cricket Council (ICC). The highest score in test cricket has been achieved by Sri Lanka, who beat India at Colombo, on August 2, 1997. The score was 952 for 6 wickets declared. In this match, Sanath Jayasuriya scored 340 not out and Roshan Mahanama made 225. No other innings have resulted in a higher total than this one; however, there are many cases of individual batsmen scoring hundreds before being dismissed.

The match ended up in the draw, Betting first India made 537 runs with 8 wickets down. In reply Sri Lanka reach an incredible total of 952 runs in the second innings and the match ended up in a draw game but still, that become one of the most memorable matches in cricket history.
