The Melbourne Renegades have been re-signed by the Melbourne Renegades for the WBBL 08 season, the team announced on Monday (July 4). India’s captain, Kaur, was Renegades’ best run-getter (406 runs) and wicket-taker (15 wickets) in WBBL 07, earning her the title of Player of the Tournament. Kaur, by the way, hit up to 18 sixes throughout the competition.

Her 46-ball unbroken 73 against Adelaide Strikers in Perth, which enabled her team to chase down a target of 161, was one of the highlights of her spectacular campaign. When the Renegades were defeated by the Adelaide Strikers in the ‘Challenger,’ their strong performances helped them advance to the next round of the competition. Kaur has represented her nation in 246 matches across three forms. She has 2411 runs at a strike rate of 27.08 and 31 wickets at a strike rate of 24 in T20Is.

“I’m thrilled to be returning to the Renegades,” Kaur remarked. Last season, I loved being a part of a team atmosphere, and I believe it helped me create some of my finest cricket.” I simply wanted to do my part for the team, and it felt good to be able to do so.

“We worked well together as a team last year and achieved some nice achievements, but there is still a space for improvement.” Hopefully, we’ll be able to achieve it again, reach the finals, and contend for the crown,” she continued.
