On Monday night, BCCI president Sourav Ganguly was found to be positive for COVID-19. His family members, including his wife Dona Ganguly and daughter Sana Ganguly, tested negative while he was admitted to a city hospital and remains under observation. The former Indian captain is currently performing well, which is a welcome development. His family has indicated that his health metrics are fine, according to a report by the Times Of India. The 49-year- old then went on to discuss his present state of health.

“Right now, he’s fine, and all of his health statistics are normal. Other than that, he is unaffected. Since Sunday, Sourav has been suffering from a low-grade fever and a sore throat. His wife, Dona Ganguly, claimed, “He was immediately isolated and the test was done.”

According to Dona Ganguly, Sourav Ganguly’s wife, he was immediately isolated. “Covid was a problem for Snehasish-da (his brother) last year. Covid was also carried by my parents and mother-in-law. On separate occasions, several of our housekeepers had also tested positive. Covid didn’t appear in the family out of anywhere. Dada was immediately segregated as soon as he showed signs of fever. “Perhaps that’s why Sana and I both came back negative,” she speculated.

Several members of the former Bengal cricketer’s family proved positive for the drug last year and earlier this year. However, Ganguly’s doctor, Saptarshi Basu, indicated there was no need to be concerned. In fact, he claimed that by Tuesday morning, the legend was fever-free.

“On Tuesday morning, Dada was fever-free. Saptarhshi Basu stated, “He’s on an antibody cocktail therapy.” As a result, it’ll only be a matter of time before the Bengal tiger is fully recovered. Earlier in January, the former Indian opener had to be admitted to the hospital twice in a short period of time after complaining of “chest discomfort.”

The former Indian batter and current BCCI President has been at the centre of the captaincy dispute for the past two weeks. Virat Kohli made a number of statements following his dismissal as India’s ODI captain. The BCCI’s appointment of Rohit Sharma as the next ODI captain elicited varied reactions from Indian cricket fans.
