Virat Kohli is taking advantage of some much-needed downtime from playing cricket. The former skipper is in Uttarakhand with his wife Anushka Sharma and daughter Vamika before the crucial Border-Gavaskar Trophy match against Australia. He had previously been seen at an ashram near Rishikesh. He posted pictures of what seemed to be a trip through the bush on Instagram on Wednesday.

The right-handed power hitter didn’t stop there. On his Instagram story, he posted a passage from the well-known poet Rumi. “Your intuition will guide you. Head that way as you run, “Rumi was mentioned by Kohli.

In the second part of 2022, Kohli made a triumphant return. Since the 2019 World Cup, the 34-year-old has not been at his most productive, but since the Asia Cup in August of last year, things have changed. Against Afghanistan, Kohli scored his first T20I century. He then took that momentum into the T20 World Cup, where he finished as India’s leading run-getter.

When it came to ODIs, he finally scored a century against Bangladesh after a protracted drought. He smashed two more against Sri Lanka to let everyone know that he is genuinely back.

However, since the T20 World Cup in Australia in 2017, Kohli and the team’s skipper Rohit Sharma have not participated in a T20I match. In the three-match T20I series against New Zealand, the pair was not selected.

The four-match Test series against Australia, which begins on February 9 in Nagpur, will see them back, however. In the last two to three years, Kohli has had a lot of difficulty in Test cricket. His average has fallen to a record low. But just as he has made a comeback in white-ball cricket, Indian fans would be hoping he can do the same even in red-ball cricket.

He would be severely relied upon by India since they must win the series to get to the World Test Championship final.
