On the eve of India’s 1000th ODI, Sachin Tendulkar selects his top five matches
In ODI cricket, Sachin Tendulkar has played in 463 of India’s 999 matches. On February 6, 2022, the Indian cricket team will play its 1000th one-day international match. And Sachin Tendulkar, who has played in 463 of India’s 999 ODI matches over the course of almost a quarter-century, opened up about the five best matches he has witnessed.
According to Times of India, Sachin said, “The two VB series finals in Sydney and Brisbane vs Australia, as well as the World Cup 2011 final, Sharjah sandstorm vs Australia, Centurion 2003 vs Pakistan, and the two VB series finals in Sydney and Brisbane vs Australia. It’s a knock I’d like to play again just for the build-up, the pre-match atmosphere, and the bowling assault, which I believe was the best at the time.”
Sachin Tendulkar is the all-time leading run scorer in One-Day International cricket, with 18426 runs in 463 appearances for the ‘Men in Blue’. With 49 tonnes to his name, he is also the highest century-maker in ODI cricket. Tendulkar was also a member of India’s 2011 World Cup-winning team. In the year 2012, Sachin Tendulkar played his final ODI match for the Indian cricket squad.
