His last game will be South Africa vs. Stokes on Tuesday. Stokes, a significant contributor to England’s World Cup triumph in 2019, says it was a difficult decision to forsake the 50-over format.

“I’ll play my last ODI cricket match for England on Tuesday in Durham. I’ve decided to no longer use this format. This decision has been quite hard to make. Playing with my buddies and representing England has been a complete thrill for me. We had a fantastic road to get here,” Stokes said in the post.

“As difficult a choice as this was to make, coping with the knowledge that I can’t give my teammates my all in this format anymore is not as difficult. He argued that no one should offer the England jersey anything less.
