The BCCI announced on Friday that Delhi batter Yash Dhull will lead a 20-member India squad in the next Under-19 Asia Cup, which will begin on December 23 in the United Arab Emirates. A pre-tournament camp will be held in Bengaluru, and the governing board has named a 25-member roster for the event, which includes five standby players.

In a statement, the governing body stated, “The All-India Junior Selection Committee has selected a 20-member India U19 squad for the next ACC U19 Asia Cup to be played in the UAE from December 23rd. In addition, the selectors have named a 25-man squad for a preparatory camp at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru from December 11th to 19th, ahead of the ACC event.”

Earlier this year, Dhull was the highest run scorer in the Vinoo Mankad Trophy. In the five matches that the DDCA played during the event, he averaged 75.50 runs per game. The Board, on the other hand, stated that India’s roster for the U-19 World Cup, which will be held in the West Indies in January and February of next year, will be released later. India, the ACC U19 Asia Cup’s two-time defending champion, has won six of the last eight editions, sharing the championship with Pakistan in 2012.
