Chennai Super Kings, the three-time Indian Premier League winners, presented Olympic gold medalist Neeraj Chopra with a cheque for Rs. one crore on Sunday in recognition of his historic achievement at the Tokyo Games. The Olympic champion javelin thrower was given with a check for Rs one crore by Chennai Super Kings Cricket Limited.

Chopra was also given a unique jersey with the number 8758 (highlighting his gold medal-winning performance of 87.58m) as a token of respect by CSK, who became only the second Indian individual gold medalist in the Olympics after Abhinav Bindra, according to a press release. “Neeraj has earned the admiration of the entire country for his outstanding achievement.
