Indian team’s tour to Australia is considered to be one of the most anticipated tours in a long time, likely at the end of this year. India will be travelling to Australia for three T20s, three ODIs and four-match Border-Gavaskar Trophy Test series. The India vs Australia series is one of the most looked forward series in the International cricket calendar these days.

In 2018-19, when India last toured to Australia, India made history by defeating the host country by 2-1 in the four-match series which was their maiden test series to win on Australian soil. This series will be one of the most high profile cricket series post COVID-19, where fans from both the countries will get to see some top quality cricket after long.

Looking ahead to the series, the former Australian fast bowler Brett Lee stated that the India-Australia rivalry is an important one in cricket history. Lee spoke to TOI where he was speaking about the upcoming India vs Australia series and said, “The tour is so important. Anytime that India gets a chance to tour Australia and vice-versa. It always was England vs Australia in the Ashes.

”That was always the pinnacle. I do believe now that this (IND-AUS) is definitely at par. When Australia play India in a test series, that’s definitely right up there with the best competition to watch. There’s definitely no love lost, but the two nations appreciate the cricket which they play”.
