Brad Hogg, a former leg-spinner for Australia, used his YouTube channel to discuss several players that impressed him during the most recent month of international cricket. Hogg, a T20 player for Australia and the Rajasthan Royals who was a pioneer of the leg-spin in the shortest format, now has a YouTube channel with over 130,000 followers where he discusses his opinions on cricket in a series called “Hogg’s Vlogs.”

In a recent video, he said that “Indian Hardik Pandya and New Zealander Daryl Mitchell are players who have really impressed me over the past month and who truly relish those pressure situations.” With a batting average of 58.50 and a strike rate of more than 150 this month against South Africa, Pandya has had a very fruitful series. Hogg is the most recent person to laud Pandya for his mature performances, which have given his game a new dimension.

“He wants to go out there and produce, whether it be with a bat or a ball, at those trying times when his team is up against it. He can adjust; the other night, when he entered those last overs, he was able to score from the first ball. Few individuals possess such ability. If they too lose early wickets, he may step up and perform well at the top of the order “said Hogg.

Pandya, who batted at number four, and routinely bowled, also captained his club in the IPL’s first season, guiding them to victory and garnering praise. He also took a memorable 3/17 in the IPL final. Pandya ensured he got his eye in before attacking the Proteas with Dinesh Karthik in the fourth T20I match against South Africa on a sluggish field where Ishan Kishan and Rishabh Pant battled. This helped India reach 169 and secure a decisive 82-run win to tie the series.
