South Africa announce squad for Sri Lanka tour

South Africa is poised to embark on a limited-overs tour of Sri Lanka, which will begin on September 2 with the first ODI. Following the three-match ODI series, a three-match T20I series will be played. In a recent development, Cricket South Africa has confirmed their ODI and T20I teams for the next match against Sri Lanka.

David Miller will miss the ODIs due to a hamstring injury and Quinton de Kock has been rested too. Lungi Ngidi has also been ruled out due to “personal circumstances,” according to a statement released by the CSA on Thursday. For the T20Is in Sri Lanka, De Kock, Miller, Ngidi, and Fortuin will return.

After missing successful tours to the West Indies and Ireland in recent months due to injury, all-rounder Dwaine Pretorius will return to the squad for both series. South Africa won both the T20 and 50-over series against world champions West Indies and Ireland, and Temba Bavuma will lead the team in both formats.
