SL vs IND 2nd T20I postponed as Krunal Pandya Tests COVID Positive

Following India’s Krunal Pandya testing positive for Covid-19, the 2nd T20I match between India and Sri Lanka at Colombo’s Premadasa Stadium has been suspended on Tuesday and will now be played on Wednesday. Following the report, both squad members will be checked according to regular processes before being allowed to play again.

Eight Indian players who were in close vicinity to Krunal Pandya are being isolated, according to reports. Prithvi Shaw and Suryakumar Yadav are two of them. Shaw and Yadav may miss the England tour if they test positive for the virus. After Shubman Gill, Avesh Khan, and Washington Sundar were ruled out due to injuries in England, they were named to fly in as reinforcements.

The first T20I game was won by India by 38 runs, and the second game was planned for Tuesday. Krunal scored 3 runs with the bat and bowled two overs in the opening game where he took one wicket.

India had already won the ODI series 2-1 and now have taken a 1-0 lead in the T20I series. The start of the ODI series was also postponed after the Sri Lankan team’s batting coach and video analyst tested positive for Covid-19.
